VINEYARDS

Pinhal da Torre differs from most of the other producers in the region for using only its own grapes. Our goal is to produce the best wine from the best grapes and the best varietaies. Understanding the uniqueness of each variety, limiting production and respecting both nature and fruit is what makes our grapes from both Quinta de São João and Quinta do Alqueve to be of the highest quality.

Quinta de São João

Quinta de São João has 22 hectares of which 19 are vineyards. The rest of the area is occupied by the offices, the winery, where all the wines are made, and a room for barrels' keeping, which was inaugurated in 1947.

Quinta do Alqueve

Quinta do Alqueve has 36 hectares of vineyards and a chalet that was built in the beginning of the 20^th century. This Chalet is being reconstructed.

The following varieties are present in at least one of both our farms:

White Grapes Fernão Pires, Chardonnay, Arinto and Viognier

Red Grapes Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Trincadeira, Syrah, Castelão, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Touriga Franca, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Franc
